This tutorial is for users with @easystreet.net email accounts who are experiencing password errors from Microsoft\u2019s disabling of Basic Authentication. If you find that you are experiencing issues after making the change,<\/strong> you may need to enable cookies<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Open Thunderbird<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Select the 3 dashed lines from the top right corner of the screen, just under the \u201cx\u201d button. Then select “Account Settings”.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    3. On the left-hand side select the \u201cSever Settings\u201d for the affected email<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    4. Next, change the authentication method to OAuth2. Thunderbird will auto-save your configuration setting changes.

    If you followed the tutorial above and are still experiencing issues with your email, you may need to enable cookies<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    1. In Thunderbird, click on menu hamburger > Settings (may be called \u2018Preferences\u2019 depending on version).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    2. Select “Privacy & Security” on the left-hand side. Under \u2018Web Content\u2019, to the right of the checkbox labeled \u201cAccept Cookies from Sites\u201d (which is NOT checked) there is a button labeled \u201cExceptions\u2026\u201d > Click that Exceptions button.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    3. In the resulting popup, under \u201cAddress of Website:\u201d enter (without quotes \u201chttps:\/\/login.microsoftonline.com<\/a>\u201c, then click “Allow”. Lastly, click “Save Changes”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
