We are often asked to find missing messages, web pages, or restore individual messages and similar requests. This is possible, but not always a simple task, and it varies by the specific service we provide. This help page clarifies what options are available.
Missing Email
First, we process millions of messages each day across multiple email platforms, so we need as much detail as possible to assist you.
Required Information:
- Sender’s email address
- Date/time it was sent by the sender
- Confirmation that you have checked your spam folder
Checking Your Spam Folder: this process differs depending on your account and service type.
- Legacy iinet.com customers: Please log in to https://console.iinet.com or https://webmail.iinet.com
- Easystreet.net customers: You have a spam folder on this interface as well, but may need to contact us for password recovery.
Note: The password for this interface is different from your email password. You can reset your password at https://console.iinet.com
independently of your email password if you are an easystreet.net user.
While we are happy to help, we need these details to be able to assist you.
Backup Methods by Service Type
Each service type has different backup methods in place:
Legacy iinet.com
- Weekly backups retained for six weeks
- Monthly backups retained for 4-6 months (typically the first Sunday backup of each month is moved to an external device)
- Backup runs over multiple days to mirror each home directory
Easy Street Business Email
- 30-day retention
Office 365 (easystreet.net)
- Once a message is “permanently deleted,” it is not retained on the servers
- While Microsoft servers are redundant, there are no backups that we have the ability to restore.
Office 365 Hosted Exchange
- We rely on Microsoft to backup email
Important Note: For all services above, if you are not set up with IMAP (or Exchange for Office 365) and are using POP3, our backups will not retain anything unless you have configured your account to leave mail on the server.
Web Hosting
- Backups run twice each week
- Backups are retained for 4-6 weeks depending on the timing
Recommendation
We encourage customers to maintain backups independent of our services on your own devices.
